Dutch official said on 26th, Dutch is likely to give up a group of oil painting, which was collected by Hitler, the German Nazi dictator. These works include a batch of valuable paintings painted by 17th century maestros. These valuable oil paintings belonged to an arts dealer, Nathan Katz, and then were obtained by Nazis. Katz's daughter, living in the United States, claimed to Dutch government this summer to withdraw the ownership of these 277 oil paintings.
During Netherlands was occupied by Germany in the second world War, Nazi obtained thousands of artworks by purchasing and pilfering. Many of them were withdrawn by Dutch government in the year of 1945, when Germany was defeated. Most of recovery works has been returned to their owners. Only about 5000 pieces of artwork are left at Dutch government, most of which are permanently loaned to the museums.
At present, Dutch official had informed the Katz's requirement to all the state-owned museums which have the collections.
