According to the recent report of Britain's "Financial Times", more and more people around the world become interested in the Chinese oil painting, and the global galleries pay more attention to the Chinese oil paintings. Many people believe that Chinese contemporary oil paintings are the most worthy of the investment project in recent years.

Ethan Cohen is a gallery owner in New York now. More than 10 years ago, he tried to sell Chinese contemporary artworks to American people, but they are not interested. Cohen recalled that he only wanted to become a disseminator of Chinese art, but he didn't expect that Chinese art would become so important. He said that every day many people asked him about the Chinese artworks by phone.

In November 2006, in an auction of Christie's in HK, the importance of Chinese art is completely recognized. At that time, the ultra-realism painter Zhang Xiao gang, one of his works was sold at the price of US$2.3 million.
In the early 1990s, a young man from America, who studied in China before, bought the first one Chinese contemporary oil painting in a Hong Kong art gallery, which makes some of his peers feel puzzled. Today, the American person had many works of the most Chinese artists of the'80s and'90s. He said that although he benefited a lot from these paintings, his purpose is not to earn money, "I bought them only because I liked them."

The leader of Sotheby's in Hong Kong, Henry Howard-Snead said: "Before 2000, the market of Chinese oil paintings is for Hong Kong people or for the foreigners in Chinese mainland. Foreigners buy these paintings, whose purpose is for remembering the time they spent in Asia. ,

But now, the people around the world are all interested in Chinese oil paintings. Howard-Snead said that not only the people from Asia, Asian buyers and more Chinese mainland people like Chinese oil paintings, but the investors from Connecticut, USA and European collectors are also interested in them. Howard-Snead said that the interests in Chinese oil paintings is inspiring, the recognition to the artist can enhance their reputation and value. These factors together make Chinese contemporary oil paintings get huge returns.

Some people think that Chinese contemporary oil paintings have not been fully recognized. Howard-Snead said that this situation will be changed soon, because "compared with the international market. Chinese oil paintings are priced too low. "

The United States "Asian-Pacific Art" magazine editor and publisher Elaine Wu said, even if the European and American collectors don't love Chinese art any more, there are still some people who are interested in China and other Asian countries. He believes that only the global economy slow down, Chinese oil painting will be lowered.
