Storing Oil Paint by Freezing It
I took some lessons from a lady who used styrofoam plates as palettes when painting and when she finished for the day she simply put another plate, of the same size of course, over it and taped it on the sides in a couple of places with masking tape and stuck it in the freezer. This might work for you if you are not mixing an enormous amount at a time. They work good as palettes since they do not absorb the oils in the paint and they are easily and quickly disposed of when you are finished with them and they are cheap!
