Women Picking Olives

In December and early January 1889, Van Gogh painted a group of three pictures of women gathering olives.
This is probably the one he sent to his sister and mother.
He wrote: "I hope that the picture of the women in the orchard of olive trees will be a little to your liking sent a drawing of it to Gauguin, . . . and he thinks it good. . . ."
