Van Gogh

In the fall of 1881 van Gogh briefly resided in Etten, where he produced a number of drawings of local peasants and laborers performing routine, humble tasks.
This masterful work, in which a man with a broom is seen sweeping a street lined with pollard willows, is a characteristic example.
