More than 400 artistes from across the country would participate in a five-day festival here that would showcase the ethnic craft and culture of Indian tribes people.
"Prakriti", to be held at Meghdoot open-air theatre in the Rabindra Bhavan Complex from Friday, would present a holistic picture of tribal culture and heritage in all its vibrancy and colours.
The festival will provide glimpses of unique forms of folk dances that include Jabro of Jammu and Kashmir, Lahauli of Himachal Pradesh, Rava of West Bengal, Songi Mukhawaete and Lingo of Maharashtra, Gorware Kunitha of Karnataka, Hoko of Meghalaya, Sanokshi Malu of Nagaland and Bordoichila of Assam.
Tribal Affairs Minister P.R Kyndiah would inaugurate the festival, organised by the ministries of tribal affairs and culture.
