
The lower arroyo of Pasadena offers so many visual possibilities, there is a painting almost everywhere you look. This time of year the colors are magical as the sycamores change color - especially late in the afternoon.
I really had a lot of fun getting impressionistic with this one, using brushes, palette knife, rags, fingers and more. Since it is all wet-on-wet, I was quite a mess when I was done. Do not sit too close to your monitor. It looks better if you lean back a bit so the strokes blend.
Someone is going to ask me about colors so here you go: yellow ochre, cadmium red deep, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, cadmium yellow pale, burnt sienna and titanium white.
